On Wednesday 18th September, Saigon Kids enjoyed its first annual Moon Festival Celebration. The children and their families participated in singing, a lion dance, a lantern parade, and enjoyed moon cakes and tea, as well as other delicious food.
The Moon Festival, or Tết Trung Thu in Vietnamese, is a mid-Autumn festival that is usually celebrated in September or October on the night of a full moon. This celebration also places a big emphasis on children. In Vietnam, people celebrate by giving moon cakes, watching lion dances and lighting lanterns..
This event was a fantastic start to start the 2013/2014 school year!
